This year, we celebrate our 20th Year of touring! Our first group tour to Britain was an unforgettable country house tour of Southern England. Since that time, we have taken groups to various regions of England — the Lake District, Cotswolds, Devon and Cornwall, Yorkshire, the Peak District, East Anglia and of course, London. Other tours have been included Scotland and Wales; Ireland; France and even farther afield... to Kenya. In each of these countries, we will still find our own 'style' and British interests. In Kenya, we sometimes visit tea plantations, British literary sites and have a taste of old 'Colonial' life, in addition to the thrilling animal sightings! When we visit France, we travel from the South of England across to France; visit Normandy Beaches; gardens designed by British gardeners; and, of course take tea in a wonderful Parisian tea room, returning to London by train.
We have had many wonderful, memorable trips - including a Golden Jubilee tour for Victoria Magazine, when we did go to London to see the Queen! Other theme tours have included Literary Tours, Country House and Garden, Needlework, Children's Literary Tour (Potter and Potter — Beatrix and Harry!), Christmas Spirit (and shopping!), Miniatures and Tea Tours. A unique feature of Rose Tree Cottage tours is that we often feature private visits to homes and/or gardens — from a suburban garden in London to the Chatsworth House (where we were met by the Dowager Duchess of Devonshire) to a Masaii Menyatta on the Mara. We make sure our travellers experience wonderful, traditional foods and of course, afternoon teas wherever possible! We also promise that there will be a few surprises along the way — planned and unplanned!
